LSG Low Season Performance Standard — Development Programme

Status: Development Programme — not an accredited certification scheme.

Low Season Growth is developing a proprietary standard for assessing how independent hotels identify, diagnose, activate and measure commercial action around weak dates.

What the standard is designed to assess

The LSG Low Season Performance Standard focuses on five areas:

  • Demand Intelligence — identifying weak dates with documented signals rather than intuition alone.
  • Diagnosis — distinguishing demand weakness, market fit, distribution, conversion and activation problems before choosing an action.
  • Distribution & Conversion — ensuring that relevant demand has a measurable and bookable path to the hotel.
  • Commercial Activation — linking date-specific actions to the diagnosis.
  • Measurement & Learning — recording outcomes, costs, attribution rules, confounding factors and failed experiments.

Why we are building it

A weak date is not one single marketing problem. The same occupancy gap can be caused by very different commercial conditions. A useful standard therefore needs to assess the process used to understand the problem, choose an intervention and measure what happened afterwards.

How the future model is intended to work

Low Season Growth would act as the scheme owner: defining the standard, controlled methodology, mark rules and public verification structure. In the mature model, certification decisions should be separated from consulting activity and made through an independent third-party process.

The intended route currently being evaluated is a proprietary conformity-assessment scheme with one or more independent Certification Bodies operating under the applicable accreditation framework for product/process/service certification. The exact classification and accreditation route remain subject to formal confirmation by the competent bodies.

Relationship with LSG Intelligence Engine

LSG Intelligence Engine may support weak-date detection, diagnosis, evidence structuring and learning. Software output will not automatically equal conformity. A future certification decision must remain auditable and evidence-based.

Stakeholder consultation now open

We are now collecting technical feedback from hotel operators, hotel associations, revenue and distribution professionals, PMS/channel-management specialists, certification bodies and other relevant stakeholders.

The consultation focuses on five questions: whether the proposed certification object addresses a real market need; whether the requirements are auditable; what is missing or overly subjective; whether independent third-party certification would create useful trust; and what would be required for the scheme to be credible in practice.

Organisations interested in reviewing the draft can contact vincenzoprotodigital@gmail.com. Participation in consultation does not imply endorsement, certification or commercial commitment.

Public claims during development

Until a formal third-party certification and accreditation pathway is in place, Low Season Growth will not describe this programme, participating hotels or its own organisation as accredited by Accredia, ISO certified, or equivalent.

Current version

Draft v0.1 — 2 October 2026.

The current draft includes a 100-point evidence matrix across the five domains, mandatory critical requirements, governance rules, mark-control principles, third-party CAB operating requirements, a validation protocol and a public registry architecture. Thresholds and assessment rules remain provisional until pilot evidence and independent review are completed.

Planned public registry

When formal certification becomes available, each valid certificate is intended to have a unique certificate ID, defined scope, standard version, certification body, issue and expiry dates, status and public verification URL.

No accredited LSG certificates are currently issued.
