Low Season Growth Research — Hotel Seasonality & Tourism Demand

Low Season Growth Research collects LSG data notes, methodology and free planning tools for independent hotels, B&Bs and hospitality professionals.

The focus is seasonality, weak-date demand, direct bookings and commercial planning. Research notes identify the underlying public source, distinguish official data from LSG calculations and include citation guidance.

Research Note 01

European Tourism Seasonality 2026: Peak vs Quiet Months

LSG uses Eurostat accommodation data to compare how strongly selected European tourism markets concentrate annual demand in their busiest months relative to their weakest months.

Original LSG metric: Peak-to-Trough Concentration Gap.

Research Note 02

International Tourism Is Growing Faster Than Domestic Demand in Europe

Eurostat data for the first half of 2026 shows international tourism nights growing faster than domestic nights. The note examines the implications for source markets, direct-booking strategy and weak-period planning.

Updated 29 September 2026: a separate regional demand section using annual 2024 Eurostat data explains why destination-level and property-level checks matter. The original 2026 figures and CSV remain unchanged.

Research Note 03

Caribbean Low Season 2026: RevPAR Gap and South American Demand

Using published CHTA / Amadeus figures, LSG examines the reported gap between Caribbean high- and low-season RevPAR and the role of growing South American source-market demand outside traditional peak periods.

Research Note 04

Japan Tourism 2026: Aggregate Cooling, Source-Market Divergence

Official JNTO data shows August inbound arrivals declining overall while 14 source markets still set August records. LSG combines those figures with Japan Tourism Agency accommodation data to illustrate why aggregate demand and individual source markets can move differently.
